Shrimp Creole with Rice Recipe


Jo Lynn’s Shrimp Creole

Ingredients:
1 teaspoon of grease
1 Medium onion ---- diced
1 Medium green bell pepper ---- diced
28 ounce can of diced tomatoes
1/8 teaspoon of salt
1/8 teaspoon of black pepper
1 cup of water
7 shakes of crushed red pepper
1 to 2 pounds of shrimp

Directions:
Put 1 teaspoon of grease in a pot and melt
Sauté onions and bell pepper until medium soft
Add 28 ounce can of diced tomatoes
Add salt and pepper to taste
Add one cup of water
Add about 7 shakes of crushed red pepper (more or less for some bite)
Simmer about 20 minutes then add 1 to 2 pounds of shrimp
Cook for 5 to 7 minutes
Serve over rice

Hint: Can use popcorn shrimp, but it is better to use large shrimp for flavor…
